What a amazing time I had in Nepal. InspireNepal is a small organisation that has and supports several beautiful projects in Nepal and I had the chance to join one of them. From a lovely arrival, Nepali lessons and my new (Nepali) Family where I lived for two months I got to work at a small school for children with a disability. As a Physical therapist I got a lot of freedom to train kids and work together with the staff on new projects in the school. Beside de lovely people that helped me I want to specially thank Sanju and Maud for the great thing they do throughout Nepal!

The trek with sanju as guide was in one word: amazing!! Nepal is beautiful. Even the tough moments (sometimes your legs are killing you) were still fun because of the enthousiasm and positivity of our guide. Since Sanju is a local you get to learn a lot about the nature and culture of Nepal while enjoying the views. Definitely reccomend it!

I really had some amazing months in Nepal. As an intern music therapy of Maud, I got many chances and opportunities to develop and explore myself. Thank you so much Maud and Sanju, for making me feel like family. You are two wonderful people!

In 2016 I did the Poonhill trek with Sanju. A nice trek along small villages and surrounded by beautiful nature. Sanju was a great guide. He is honest and pure and with a friendly atittude, I felt right away comfortable. Everything was taken care off by Sanju. During the trek we talked a lot about the nature, culture and fun stuff. Sanju was very patience and followed by tempo. He did everything to make this trek unforgettable and that it was! I will definitely come back! (already planned)

What an internship experience would be for 5 months was for only three weeks. I had to go back because of the corona virus. But the three weeks experiences in Nepal, mostly in Kathmandu, were amazing, special and interesting. I wanted to explore more of Nepal, the country, culture, people, nature, food, religions and spiritual traditions etc.
Sanju and Maud are really special, kind and inspiring people: Their hospitality is really generous. INSPIREnepal is a beautiful and pure organisation; in my perception. The projects are made full of love and compassion. I really recommend to do your volunteer or internship in Nepal by this organisation: INSPIREnepal! You feel immediately really at home and accepted. Besides your voluntary work or internship experience you can do many other nice, adventurous and creative things in your free time. Maud and Sanju will always be there to give you tips and advice.
And they will give you free hugs and humor

I have been with INSPIREnepal for 2 months and I had an amazing time. It’s very personal and they are making sure that you feel comfortable at your new home and at the volunteering project. It feels like you get an extra family. You get a really Nice experience with the Nepali culture. They can tell you all about it and You get the opportunity to see and experience the traditional rituals at the festivals.
I only can say good things about INSPIREnepal and I would recommend it to everybody. It is a chanse to dive into a beautifulI culture guided by really nice people. Again thank you so much for everything.

I spent a few weeks with INSPIRENepal and had an incredibly special time. I was immediately welcomed into Maud and Sanju’s home as if I was an old friend. They offer you a lot of support during your volunteering time and dedicate time to show you the sites of Kathmandu, drink Chai and share the best places to eat. They organised my volunteering at a monastery just outside Kathmandu and were on hand to answer any questions when I was there. There is also a chance to get involved in some of the other wonderful projects they run. If you’re considering volunteering in Nepal, for whatever length of time, I highly recommend INSPIRENepal. It makes for very special memories. Thank you Maud and Sanju xxx

I’ve been with Inspirenepal for 5 months during my social work internship and I have nothing but good things to say about the experience! Their way of supervising is very personal and they help you every step of the way to make the Nepal-experience as rewarding as possible! With trips to Chitwan, going rafting and arranging a Thangka painting workshop, they gave so many possibilities to enjoy Nepal next to my internship, that I feel that I really got to experience this country at its best.
Thank you so much for everything you’ve done for me and I hope to visit the Inspire-family again next year!!

I am so glad that i had the chance to meet these wonderful people. The way they run the (small) organisation is truly wonderful and inspiring. Their personal approach with everyone, not only the volunteers but also their network in Nepal gave me the feeling of having a family away from home. They are doing everything they can to improve the lives of the people they work with, and i was really happy i could help with this. It was great to see what they already have achieved and to be involved of some of their ongoing projects. If you get the chance to work with Maud and Sanju, doubt no second to take it!

It was my very first time volunteering in Nepal and I am really glad that I have chosen INSPIRE Nepal. I spent 8 weeks in Kathmandu and had the most amazing time! Not only did I get to experience integrating with the locals, I also had a little INSPIRE family that was always there for me. Maud and Sanju are the kindest people that I’ve ever met. They were always available and attentive.. and they make a perfect team!
Thank you guys so much!! See you guys real soon, I’ll be back

After 4 months spent in Nepal working as a music therapist, I can not recommend these guys enough. I have felt so supported and welcome. I have made some lifelong friends as well as gaining some invaluable professional practice which will inevitably be invaluable, both in my career and in my personal development. This has been the experience of a lifetime. Here’s to the next 2 months!

Sanju led a trek with me and my boyfriend to Poon hill together with Razu during our first visit to Nepal and it was lovely!! The trek itself was challenging at times but Sanju and Razu were always patient en energized us when we were feeling tired. Because of his intimate knowledge of the landscape and his passionate love for Nepal, Sanju left us with a beautiful memory of the fragility of our environment and the care and beauty surrounding us in this special place also Razu’s playfulness made the harder bits much more fun to get through. They also knew all the best dishes to order and I will never forget the many momo’s we shared. Will definitely trek wit them again maybe this time even try out the Everest base camp trek?! Haha anything is possible but seriously though, Thanks for the laughs, the knowledge and the wonderful trek!

My trek to Poonhill was really amazing! The combination of a physical challenge, great companionship and your “reward” of the beautiful view from Poonhill. Honestly, when i reached the top i had to cry out of happiness! I recommend everyone to do it, it’s such an amazing experience.

INSPIREnepal is a very pure organisation. During my volunteering in Kathmandu I was able to visit and sleep in the volunteerhouse from Maud and Sanju in the weekends. There we did fun things with each other and with the other volunteers. Maud and Sanju are really hospitable. They really live for helping others and do everything to make it a beautiful experience. For example on my first evening in Nepal I was allowed to go with them to a Nepalese wedding. They will take you to special local places and learn you things about Nepali culture. If you want you can also range activities (hiking, rafting etc.) through Maud and Sanju.

My volunteer experience with INSPIREnepal has been life-changing for me. My first placement was teaching English at a monastery for a few weeks, and it was an amazingly profound experience– I’ve learned a great deal about love and joy from those little monks, and the monastery has become like “home” to me.

My second placement was doing music therapy at a special school for children with disabilities, which has also been wonderful — seeing the smiles on the children’s faces was the most rewarding thing in the world! My host family was very very nice, and it was great to experience the Nepali lifestyle and some delicious homemade dhal bhat! I also took part in some other projects like painting schools and having a sports day for deaf kids.

I have made many great friends and had so many memorable moments along the way, and I feel like I have many families in Nepal now. Maud and Sanju are such wonderful people, and they took very good care of everything for me. I really enjoyed working with them, and I will definitely go back again!

Thank you INSPIREnepal and Maud and Sanju for a great experience in both Nepal and working as a music therapist. Living in a host family makes it even more of a real experience of the country, and there is plenty of time between and after work to explore all of Nepal. Throughout the entire time (5 months) I have felt supported, I could always come with questions, ask for feedback on my work, have supervision sessions, thank you for that. And let’s not forget about the weekends, eating the best naan in the world (which will probably be disappointing every time I eat it somewhere else for the rest of my life), watching movies on the ceiling, spending way too much time on making a Christmas video, playing wacky games and visiting festivals. Thank you guys for an awesome time!

Being a volunteer at INSPIREnepal was one of the best experiences of my life and I just can’t wait to go back one day!
INSPIREnepal is a small organisation, so you get a lot of personal attention. From navagating you through the dusty streets, to picking you up in the rain to play some Jenga. Everything is possible with Maud, Sanju & Razu and they do everything with so much enthusiasm. They’re such lovely people!
The children home where I stayed was wonderful. The kids of the Gonykap children home were all very sweet and behaved well. The housemother and father were amazing and did everything to make it feel like home. I still miss it every day.

Sanju and Maud make a great team and being involved with INSPIREnepal was one of the highlights of my time in the country. I never felt I was unsure of anything and could always ask questions if I needed to. A great organisation and I’m sure it’ll only get better!
Thanks to the both of you!

Mandy van der Lans

INSPIREnepal is a pure organization. Unfortunately the 5 months turned into 5 weeks, but what an incredible time. I was received so warmly by Maud and Sanju. Not only during my internship I was well guided also during the weekends we could do fun activities together. I hope to see you soon Maud and Sanju because it was a cool experience!🥰🥰

Maria

I have learned so much of the Nepali culture by staying with my hostfamily. From the way they eat to religious rituals till cultural craziness

Mariella & Nico

Our experiencwe with INSPIREnepal is unforgettable. Right at your arrival you feel welcome in Nepal but most definitely with INSPIREnepal. An organization that gives you the feeling that you are visiting your family. Maud and Sanju take you along the culture and rituals of Nepal, it makes you closer to the projects and people. Sanju explains everything that you want to know with enthousiasm. For your daily dose of humor, you’ve got Maud. It doesn’t matter if you do a project for a day or longer, you really get to experience the world of the Nepali. Welcoming, warm and gratefulness are the feelings you will experience. The trek by Sanju was really well organized and takes you away from the chaotic life of Kathmandu. In the mountains you truly get to experience Nepali life. Sanju explains about everything you want to know with a lot of enthousiasm.

Mariella Braem Meijers

A really great young hard working organization! They are there for you when you need them and give you the feeling you have a family in Nepal. I believe my time in Nepal was so good because of these lovely people. Thank you Maud en Sanju!

I am the 12th person giving a five star score for INSPIREnepal. Sounds almost unreliable, right? But after 5 weeks of volunteering (and some weeks of just hanging around), I am not able to give the organisation, and Maud & Sanju, anything less than the full score. This was a truly amazing experience. Teaching english at the women’s school in Kirtipur taught me more than I could have imagined and I will miss those women a lot. And my host mom, ganga-didi was the best Nepali sister you can ask for. Maud and Sanju are the golden couple for an organisation like this. Sanju can explain everything about Nepali culture and khana (food!) and knows about all festivals in the region. You will definitely experience one of these amazing festival days if you spend some time here. And when you have had enough of the eastern atmosphere at one point, Maud is there with some healthy western jokes and down to earth point of view. You guys rock! With INSPIREnepal you will be certain of an amazing volunteering time, but your Nepal experience will be so much more than that. So don’t hesitate any longer.. Just go!

It was 2016 when I was in Nepal and had the most amazing experience with Sanju, Maud and INSPIREnepal. We started off with a couple of stays in the Chitwan National Park before we went on a fantastic 4 days hiking tour. We did the Poonhill trek with Sanju and Razu. I started to become ill and Sanju was just great. He helped me to find medication, always looked out for me and carried my backpack. I felt absolutely safe! This trip was just incredible and words can’t describe this adventure. Back in Katmandu Sanju took me on trips around the city with his scooter, showed me around some fantastic temples, we ate Nepali food and I still appreciate that thanks to him I was able to not just see, but feel Nepali culture.

We started a project for his home village Chovar. We renovated the community house and were able, with a lot of help and support from family and friends from home, to build a whole library for the children there. This feeling of being able to help and support with little effort was a life changing experience.

The days before I left I was invited to Maud and Sanjus home. We cooked Nepali dinner at home and went to the market. Still, when I feel I‘m missing abroad too much, I cook this dishes and feel back in Nepal. I‘m so greatful that they both let me in and made me feel welcome all the way. I experienced the „normal“ Nepali life which is truly amazing.

I did the ABC trek with Sanju. An unforgettable experience that I can recommend to everyone. The trek was well organized from the beginning to the end. Sanju arranged the permits and great advises about the right boots and equipment. I wasnt an experienced walker, so the trek was quite heavy. But Sanju was always there to motivate me with jokes and interesting sotires about the mountains and Nepali culture. The postive attitude of Sanju created beautiful encounters with the locals and other trekkers. The ABC trek is unforgettable with amazing scenery, culture and delicious dal bhat!! Sanju is the perfect guide for this trek. Im really happy and grateful that I did this ABC trek with INSPIREnepal and Sanju.

Being involved with INSPIREnepal is more then voluntering. It’s making friends for life, it’s getting new families and it’s expanding your talents. Maud and Sanju are just beautiful (host)people who will show you around their projects and who will let you participate. Spread the word and come making unforgettable moments at INSPIREnepal! A big thanks to Maud and Sanju for opening their house and making my time in Nepal extra special!

Thankx Sanju and Maud for taking good care for me as a volunteer and for the internships at your homestay.
You have a great organization, really good organized.
You do all the best you can to make us feel at home and at ease.
I enjoyed the weekends, the fun, the movies watching while lying on the floor. Eating and laughing together.
Take also good care for yourselves too.
Until we meet again. Cause I will come back with cheese and teabags!!
With love from Peggy

Sanju was my guide on a mesmerizing trek through Langtang Valley. During these days he was the most amazing, kind, professional and funny guide. He thought me a lot about the culture, the people, the nature and his enthusiasm makes even the most difficult climb easy. Sanju is a friend to anyone and a reliable, safe guide and I am so happy to have become friends. See you on our next adventure Sanju!

I wish I could have stayed longer, but due to corona virus I had to leave after only three weeks instead of the 5 months I planned for. Nonetheless these three weeks were an amazing experience. Maud and Sanju were very welcoming and made me feel part of the INSPIREfamily the moment I arrived. Maud supervised our internship an gave helpfull advice and tips. Sanju gave us the insights in Nepali culture. They are thé definition of a power couple and run a beautiful organization that deserves all the love and support in the world.
I will definitely be back in the near future! Love and miss you guys! ❤

I chose to go to Nepal for one month. I did the voluntary project to teach English in a monastery. It was a great experience and if I needed help or had questions Maud and Sanju were always there to answer them or to help me. They are really involved in their projects and really care about people, the people they help as well as the volunteers/interns.
And last but not least: I had a lot of fun in Nepal: During my time in the monastery but also outside of that and of course also with Maud and Sanju!

Roselyn Boston

Had such an awesome time on my first visit to Nepal and a lot of the credit goes to INSPIREnepal. It was well organized and they are quite responsive. The orientation with Maud was much needed, from navigating the streets, to the many traditions that make up their daily lives. She not only successfully organized my stay/volunteer at the Buddhist Monastery but I was also lucky enough to celebrate Tihar and Newari New Year with her and her “family”. The personal attention you get from INSPIREnepal is unbeatable and their enthusiasm, insight and love for Nepal and its people are very apparent and contagious. My only regret is that I couldn’t stay longer.

Love everything about InspireNepal! I’ve been an intern for 2 months and have learned so much from Maud and Sanju. I felt very much at home in Kathmandu because of their kindness and warmth. I would recommend this organization to everyone!🙏💚

Vera Peels

What a fantastic experience it was!! Unfortunately my 2 months adventure became a 3 weeks adventure because of the virus…. as soon as it’s all over I will go back to Nepal to teach English to the monks. And of course go back to Maud and Sanju from InspireNepal where we could spend the weekends and do fun things together with all the other volunteers and interns. I would definitely 100% recommend this company!!! Everything is well organised and they help wherever, whenever they can.
Maud en Sanju, I will see you soon!!!!!!!
